About TAN: 3.3

Hi.

born in the South Bronx. went to prep school. first Choate, a name you might know if you know such names. then Pomfret, less known, but same deal.

The bronx-to-boarding school transition is the basis for The Assimilated Negro (T.A.N.) thing.

still live in NYC. have a book coming out with Random House/Crown/Three Rivers.

I'm a little crazy, but friendly.

  1. You were awesome with Rage Against the Machine. When are y'all gonna cut a new album? Don't wear the Communist hat, though.

I just happened upon your blog from a link in a NYTimes article. TAN you are da man. I share a similar bio, but I was raised in Queens and went to Kent. We played sports against Choate and went to parties at Pomfret. Holla!

  5. Were you in Prep? Just curious. I'm not from NY, but I went to St. Andrew's School in Delaware and most of the other kids of a brown persuasion were New Yorkers who came through the Prep program.
