Someone sent this in to me, and I thought I'd play along.
IF YOUR LIFE WERE A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...

Notes:
I didn't cheat. And there are a number of oddly appropriate couplings, "Waking Up," "Breaking Up," and "Funeral Song" are striking. Mad Crew and Flava In Ya Ear are amusing associations for "Falling In Love" and "Death Scene." I'm glad one of my songs made the cut (The Basics 2.1), and that song is great for driving. So yeah, that was fun...
I love stuff like this. I just smacked my answers up on my blog, crediting you, of course.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Fighting to "don't stop til you get enough" is pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought I was the only person who still dusted off the old Mobb Deep.
ReplyDeleteJust tried it thanks to Gumbo Girl and posted my list on my blog. My fight song was "Live it up" John Legend. I don't know what to make of that. Then again, I failed to include break up song in my soundtrack...oops, so that probably screwed up everything, so...
ReplyDeleteanyway, great idea.
gumbo - no problem. how's the gumbo?
ReplyDeletemist1 - awww, who knew we'd have such romantic mood music in common
xenophobia - how do you leave out breakup song, that's critical?

What a interesting little exercise, TAN. I think the Prom one is quite apropos; the Life song is kind of scary; the Birth of a Child is funny since that would not be in the movie of my life; and, the Funeral song would fit it were held years after the death and the body had finally been identified by the Cold Case crew. The Breaking Up song is completely wrong if you listen closely to the lyrics. The rest are just goofy, I think.
I just came across your site, and I had to try the Life Soundtrack for myself. I wish I had cheated, because some of what came up is downright embarassing. I got a lot of mess on my iTunes.
