A Bronx Tale: In Search of Sonia Sotomayor
Had fun in the South Bronx talking to people about Sonia Sotomayor. I guess I should mention, for those who stumble on here looking for "assimilated negro sonia from the bronx", Justice Sotomayor is originally from the Boogie Down, and Puerto Rican, and has made a lot of people proud via her rags-to-riches tale. ReplyDeleteIt strikes me how much folks in the BX see themselves as one and the same (i.e., Black, Puerto Rican, Latina/o, etc.)...that's what I love about it.
And son, (you, TAN) you speak way differently than I imagined...lol...your voice is mad deep and brolic...I don't know I guess I expected something different to go with your nom de website. My bad.
